STEP 1: Click on Start, type the following command in the search bar: %temp%.
This will open your temporary folder. Windows may have been needed these folders and files at one time, but are no longer useful. Unless this is your default location for saving documents, everything in this folder is safe to delete.
STEP 1: Click Start, then All Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, and then select Disk Cleanup. Wait for the window to open.
STEP 2: Select (check) only the Temporary Internet Files choice (Uncheck all other choices). Click OK.
STEP 3: When asked to confirm the action, click Yes. The window will close by itself.
Note: You will now clear the TEMP folder.
STEP 4: Open the My Computer icon. Open the Local Disk (C:) icon.
STEP 5: Open the Documents and Settings folder.
STEP 6: Open your <username> folder. Ex: VCV1
STEP 7: Open the Local Settings folder (This is a hidden folder. It will appear "grayed out").
STEP 8: Open the Temp folder.
STEP 9: Press Ctrl + A on your keyboard to select all the files listed. Press Shift + Delete on your keyboard.
STEP 10: When asked to confirm the action, click Yes.
